Water temp 72 degrees
We got out this morning on a slow running incoming tide.
Caught some shrimp and headed to the creeks hoping the holes were starting to produce that have been fish depleted for us this summer.
On the fifth cast I had the thump of a red as he nailed the trout trick hopped off the ledge and the fight was on early.
After a battle that spun me around the boat a few times this nice 9 pound red came to the boat, confirming that the fish had returned to the creeks.
I moved the boat forward so Nancy could flip her fresh caught shrimp into the rocks below and she quickly started catching nice 18" redfish.
She ended up pulling 5 nice keeper reds from the creek.
We tried fishing out in the big water of the Broad River but the cold front had arrived and two foot rollers were coming down the chute.
Sliding into the trout hole in Whale Branch one 18" trout came to the fish bag.
Nice to see fall arriving and the reds coming alive again!
